Position Summary
- The NSX Administrator is responsible for the design, deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of VMware NSX environments.
- This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of virtualized network infrastructure while collaborating closely with security, systems, and network teams.
- The NSX Administrator also provides advanced troubleshooting, develops automation to streamline operations, and supports overall data center modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and administer VMware NSX-T environments, including logical routing, switching, load balancing, and distributed firewall policies.
- Manage micro segmentation strategies and enforce network security posture across virtualized workloads.
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and lifecycle management of NSX components and related VMware platforms.
- Monitor NSX infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and logs using native tools and third-party monitoring systems.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving network overlays, transport nodes, edge appliances, and integrations with physical networks.
- Collaborate with network, server, and security teams to support architecture designs, platform upgrades, and new deployments.
- Develop and maintain documentation including topology diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration records.
- Implement automation and scripting to improve efficiency, consistency, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Support incident response activities related to network virtualization and ensure timely resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical infrastructure issues.
